What is hydrographic, water transfer printing, camo dipping, and curved coating printing?
Hydrographic embellishing is accomplished by utilizing water displacement Allows you to apply a high definition graphic onto a three dimensional shapes
Step 1- Preparation
This is the most important step of the hydrographic process. Preparing the surface for decorating by cleaning, sanding and priming the object to be dipped
Step 2- Application
The application process starts with a base coat on the object that will control the hue of the print (pattern) and the contrast. This will allow you to customize your object by manipulating the base coat to achieve the desire look. The pattern is printed on a water soluble polyvinyl film (carrier) that is floated onto of water in our specialized hydro tank. Activation solution is applied to the pattern while the film is floating and starting to dissolve. Once the film that carries the pattern completely dissolved the object can be printed by dipping it through the pattern. The displacement of the water by the object causes the pattern to engulf the object and adhere evenly across the object regardless the shape or complexity. Any remaining residue is simply washes of with clean water in the rinse tank
Step 3- Finishing
Finishing is done with automotive urethane which is very durable and easy to maintain serves as a protective layer against UV, chemical and adhesion damage. Various finishes are available from flat to glossy to manipulate the desire contrast between the base coat and pattern that is printed.
